DESCRIPTION:This event is open to current and prospective families. Want to learn more about Hudson Cub Scouts Pack 3322? Join us for this fun event!\nAt 3:10 on Sunday\, August 22\, we will meet at the Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad Indigo Lake Train Station.  New scout families are welcome to come early (2:45 ) to learn more about the pack and get paperwork sorted out.\n\nAt approximately 3:30 (when the train is scheduled to arrive)\, Scouts\, parents\, siblings\, and families that may be interested in joining Pack 3322\, will board the Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad to participate in its Bike Aboard program.  Specifically\, from the Indigo Lake station\, we will board the northbound CVSR train with our bikes (brought to the meeting from home) and enjoy a train ride through the beautiful Cuyahoga Valley National Park.  We will then get off at the Peninsula station (at approximately 3:45) and then bike the approximately 4.0 miles back to Indigo Lake stop.  It is a beautiful path\, crossing marshes and wetlands while following the Ohio and Erie Canal Trail.  While biking back (about 3 miles into the 4-mile ride)\, everyone is invited to stop for snacks and refreshments (roasted sweet corn\, soft-serve ice cream\, fresh fruit) at Szalay’s Farm & Market.  It is cash or check only.\n\n\nAs with all Cub Scout functions\, Scouts should be accompanied by a parent or other adult.  Scouts should wear their Class Bs.\n\nSiblings and friends who may be interested in Scouting are invited to join in the fun.\n\nAll participants (Scout\, parent\, sibling\, etc.) should submit updated medical forms before we board the train.  (A little trick from a family that has done this a few times\, before signing and dating the forms this year\, scan them into your computer.  Then\, if nothing changes\, just print the scanned forms out next year and sign\, date\, and submit.)\n\nThere is no payment to the Pack\, but if you plan to go please bring:\n\n\n\n$5 per person (in cash (exact amount appreciated) and paid to the CVSR ticket taker on the train)\, \nbikes\, \nbike helmets\, \nwater\, \nmoney for treats at Szalay’s (no cards accepted)\, \nupdated medical forms (Part A and B) for each participant\, and \na backpack to carry your gear and the paperwork from the meeting (including the important popcorn paperwork).

SUMMARY:February Pack Meeting – Pinewood Derby Design Contest
DESCRIPTION: This month’s theme is the Pinewood Derby Design Contest.  Scouts should wear their Class As with neckerchiefs.  As usual\, the Pack meeting will begin promptly at 7:00\, with gathering activities beginning at 6:45 (but you may want to arrive earlier).  Upon arrival\, and before the 7:00 start\, each Scout (and sibling) should:\n\n\n\nRegister his or her car\nEnter the car in the appropriate category for the design contest\nCheck car weight on the official Pack scale\nEnter the guessing game\nParticipate in pre-meeting activity/game\n\n\nPlease ask your Scout to decide on the category he or she wants to enter before arriving at the meeting.  Siblings are eligible to enter cars in the “Best Siblings Car” category.  Awards will be given for 1st\, 2nd\, and 3rd place in each category\, as voted on by the Scouts (only Scouts vote\, no siblings).\n\nWe encourage you (or your spouse\, your Scout’s grandpa\, or whomever) to work with your Scout in designing\, constructing\, and building his or her Pinewood Derby car.  There is no requirement or expectation that the Scout complete all of the tasks associated with getting the car ready.  In fact\, the rules specifically recognize that: “Parents or guardians of Scouts are encouraged to work together with their scouts to help design and build cars.” With that in mind\, we suggest\, but do not require\, that your Scout complete those parts of the car’s building and design that you feel your Scout can complete safely under your supervision. This\, as with most Cub Scout activities\, is an opportunity for adults to spend time with your Scout teaching\, counseling\, and completing a fun and educational task.

DESCRIPTION:This event is open to current and prospective families. Want to learn more about Hudson Cub Scouts Pack 3322? Join us for this fun event!\n\nOverview – Board the train with your bike at Indigo Lake Train Station at 3:30 Take the train 1 stop south to Peninsula\, and ride 3 miles back to Szalay’s.  Families are free to add on to the distance\, but the official cub scout itinerary is the 3 mile section from Peninsula to Szalay’s \nMore info can be found here – https://www.cvsr.org/bike-aboard/ \nWhere – Indigo Lake Train Station – map (you can park at the Indigo Lake parking area (small area)\, Szalays (large area) map or IRA trailhead map and ride over to the Indigo Lake Station. \nWhen: The train is scheduled to pull into Indigo Station at 3:30PM.  Plan on arriving at least 20 minutes before departure. \n\n\n\nAs with all Cub Scout functions\, Scouts should be accompanied by a parent or other adult.  Scouts should wear their Class Bs.\n\nSiblings and friends who may be interested in Scouting are invited to join in the fun.\n\nAll participants (Scout\, parent\, sibling\, etc.) should submit updated medical forms before we board the train.  (A little trick from a family that has done this a few times\, before signing and dating the forms this year\, scan them into your computer.  Then\, if nothing changes\, just print the scanned forms out next year and sign\, date\, and submit.)\n\nThere is no payment to the Pack\, but if you plan to go please bring:\n\n\n\n$5 per person (in cash (exact amount appreciated) and paid to the CVSR ticket taker on the train)\, \nbikes\, \nbike helmets\, \nwater\, \nmoney for treats at Szalay’s (no cards accepted)\, \nupdated medical forms (Part A and B) for each participant\, and
